A technique used to spotlight beautifully figured lumber, book matching is achieved by splitting a board with a distinctive figure or color pattern up the center and laying the pieces side by side to create a mirror image. Book matching is typically used in side by side drawers or doors such as jewelry cases, armoires, media centers, and other cabinetry.
